The Production Line is an emerging filmmaking program designed by Bacon Factory Films and supported by Screen Australia, Screen Queensland and NITV. It will take emerging Indigenous filmmakers through the process of getting their idea from story to screen.
It begins with a two-day Master Class to be held in Brisbane in October 2014. It will be a safe and friendly forum to hear from and be inspired by established industry professionals – along with the opportunity to workshop your ideas.
The next step is the chance to work on one of two documentary films:
- The Remote Activation Initiative will be selected from the ideas presented, to be developed in a regional or remote area. The filmmakers will be guided through the process of development, pre-production, shooting and editing.
- The second documentary film is the 1st Step Initiative, which gives emerging filmmakers the opportunity to experience a real film shoot, on set, with an experienced professionals.
The whole program aims to give emerging Indigenous filmmakers a rare and valuable opportunity to gain a broadcast credit, while learning new skills, meeting industry experts and being mentored through the entire process.
